How much does a tattoo cost?
I charge a rate of 180/hr before tax. Cost depends on a lot of factors; size, placement, complexity, etc. I always ask for a budget and give an estimate before agreeing to a project.
I charge a sliding scale rate for scar cover ups that can be discussed through a consultation
What is your touch up policy?
Touch ups are free for the first six months as long as aftercare protocols are followed. A photo of the tattoo must be sent before I book in a touch up. If 6 or more months have passed, or aftercare instructions were not followed properly, I charge at $45 touch-up fee
For clients who live further than two hours away, touch ups are free for one year
What is your deposit policy?
I take a deposit of $100 for any appointment under 2 hours, $150 for any appointment ranging from 2-4 hours, and $200 for a full day appointment (4-7 hours)
Deposits are non-refundable with few exceptions, for example; illness and or moving far away. I am very understanding.
To reschedule, the client must provide at least 72 hours notice in order to keep their deposit on file. I offer one free reschedule, multiple reschedules will result in the forfeiting of the deposit.
Due to Covid-19, any symptoms of illness, Covid-19, cold, or flu-like symptoms require a reschedule at no extra charge. If you have been in recent contact with anyone who tested positive, or have been in recent contact with anyone awaiting Covid-19 test results, the same applies. This does not forfeit the deposit or count towards the free reschedule. Please give me as much notice as possible about how you are feeling
Can I get tattoo’d if I have a darker skin tone?
Absolutely! My style of work is focused more on black and grey, with occasional hints of colour. If you would like colour in your tattoo, and are unsure about how it might appear on your skin, or have had a colour tattoo experience you were unhappy with, I am more than happy to discuss it further.
How do I prepare?
Wear loose, comfortable, dark clothing to your appointment. Make sure you wear clothing that makes access to the area of the tattoo easy (for example, do not wear tight pants for a thigh piece, a long-sleeved shirt or sweater with no undershirt for an upper arm piece, etc)
Do not drink alcohol the night before, try and get a good sleep, and eat a good meal before your tattoo. I will not tattoo anyone on an empty stomach.
Bring headphones, a book, or any other item you would like that will keep you entertained. There is no pressure or expectation to be talkative or engage in conversation while getting tattoo’d.
Bring your own mask, water/beverages, and snacks

What do you like to tattoo?
I love to tattoo nature, animals, skulls, bones, entomology (bugs), florals, medieval weapons, pet portraits, pop-culture references, horror, cryptids, mythological creatures, and so much more!
What do you not like to tattoo?
I do not accept requests for realism, full colour, watercolour, micro tattoos, large pieces of script, or tattoos that I do not think would suit my style and or body of work. I want you to get the best tattoo possible, and sometimes that won’t be from me!
Can I bring friends/family?
No friends or family are accepted to join an appointment. Matching tattoo’s can be coordinated to be on the same day, but only one person at a time may be in the shop
Accessibility information:
There are no perfumes or candles burned in the space
Clients are welcome to bring headphones, books, comfort and or stimming objects may be used as long as they don’t move or shake the body in any way that might disrupt the tattooing process.
There is no pressure to talk during your tattoo, please just let me know what your comfort level is when it comes to conversation.
I do not smoke
There are no stairs to enter the shop
Do you do commissions?
Not currently, but will always post on my instagram if that changes
Will you post my tattoo on Instagram?
I do not post every tattoo I do on Instagram, not because I am unhappy with the tattoo, but for a variety of reasons. I may not have a photo I am happy with, the skin may be too red/swollen or have goosebumps, or it may not be cohesive with the style of work I am currently promoting. I feel very honoured to do every tattoo that I do, regardless of whether or not it ends up on my Instagram.
Can I send you a healed photo?
Please do! I love to see healed work. Please have someone else take it for you if possible, preferable in natural lighting. Moisturize your tattoo beforehand and move clothes out of the area. Please either email them to me at alybrookeart@gmail.com , or send them to me over Instagram @ alybrookeart
